Is it possible to get over suffering?

Suffering is part and parcel of life. A person who has not suffered does not really know what happiness means to him. Suffering for even a single moment makes a person tolerant and humble.

A person born in the world is not likely to survive until and unless he doesn’t suffer and suffering makes self affordable, reasonable and bearable. There are situations when someone, somewhere and sometime falls into and suffers to an extent not always within parameters. This is a critical juncture and getting to work out on the facts at this point is very important. It seems the person has lived a life that he had never imagined and that this life was a result of those moments that he had endured while in its custody.

Suffering is nostalgic. While passing an old house or a school corner or perhaps a mall step, situations remind the pain that might have been sustained sometime in childhood. Childhood suffering takes its place in the human body which is very difficult to eliminate despite ecstasy and happiness. It gets stamped on the mind and heart and tortures more if the same situation returns as a flashback.
Suffering can be in any form-mental or physical. Physical suffering can be overcome and heals with time. The scars or bruises don’t really leave a mark and a person recovers sooner or later.

Mental suffering can be overcome but not always. It might have a lasting mark on self if not treated on time. In other words, suffering mentally takes time or even longer to come to terms with the truth. Blatant truth is definitely very tough to overcome and in an era where nobody has time for emotions, it really becomes difficult to deal with. A person might overcome the aftermath of sudden depression or tension with drugs or alcohol. But, intoxication is not a permanent solution.
A person who has suffered mentally must gather a lot of courage and patience to get over it. There is never a best or better way to get over sufferings but a person can make efforts by indulging in activities that allow him to get out of unwarranted and unwanted pain.

Sometimes, talking to someone or crying in a quiet corner or listening to music might help. Other ways could be dancing or driving on a lonely road. Yoga is a traditional exercise that acts as a good healing activity, helping in concentrate on the main things in life. Meditation is another important activity that allows a person to release the pain and inhale the pure air of positive feelings and optimism.
