1950

As I go through yesterday's newspaper, I come across a number of people born in 1950. You are just a half century away from the grand opening of 2000. It' s so special for a country like India. It made India a great Republic and in spite of all odds, India survived and sustained it. The new Constitution came into existence-the only written Constitution that gave birth to numerous policies, rules, guidelines, laws, amendments that the People of India need to follow under all given or ungiven circumstances. Since my childhood, I have always liked and adored the "PREAMBLE" of the Constitution. I still remember, our Civics teacher asked us to mug it up. She asked each of us to come forward in front of class and speak out the words mentioned in the "PREAMBLE". Each of us spoke with full confidence and we used to feel a sense of acheivement after speaking for few seconds. It used to be a great moment.

Each person born in this year has his or her own story to narrate to the world. There are plenty who were born but their stories are same as any common man and do not get highlighted.

Narendra Modi- 1950th born is one of the most talked about personality. He worked and helped in Gujarat's development to such an extent that even in the time of recession, he made India Inc. and rest of the world sign on billions of dollars for investment. It's just great-- the mind-tact-work-manner- just everything.

Shabana Azmi- she is definitely great as an actor. The work she does for the slum dwellers of Mumbai-it's worth mentioning. But, sometimes, she has gone beyond the limits. She has never realised how it might go down the brains of others who are listening. She has been provocative and gained unrequired publicity by doing those things which people don't entertain.

How can we forget Mohinder Amarnath who helped India win it's first Cricket World Cup in the year 1983? Rajnikanth has been a very popular actor of Tamilnadu. Starting his life as a bus conductor, he invaded the Tamil film industry with a lot of dreams. His expressions, way of delivering dialogues, action stunts -everything revolutionised the mindset of South Indian cinema viewers.

We all know that 15th August is our Independence Day, year was 1947 when we were out of the clutches of British Raj. But, in 1950, this day brought a major disaster in form of earthquake in the north east of our country-Assam when lakhs of people were rendered homeless.

The two great and prominent scholars who bid adieu to this world were the 'IRON MAN'--Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the mystic 'Guru'-- Shri Aurobindo Das. I personally like Sardar a lot. He was responsible for the unification of the country 'INDIA'. He was a true 'Home Minister' who brought the different erstwhile kingdoms and states under one roof of India. A great freedom fighter, statesman who toiled hard to keep the country intact.

Matter of Time

As the first month of the year 2009 is about to end, one wonders how fast time is going out of hand. Time is God. For each and every thing, you gotta beg time to give you some more moments. In fact, it has made a man, machine. Time is money. You lose everything once, time runs out. Not everybody feels, one should depend on destiny to do wonders in life. A second of decision can make millions or turns the story from riches to rags.

Let's evaluate the problem of terror which has spread it's tentacles all over the planet. Do you remember 9/11? The attacks on WTC or Pentagon were so well calculated as far as time is concerned. The targets were in fact acheived. Can you imagine the system that might be working in the mind of the Chief who executed such plans of terror with total precision and accuracy taking care of the time? One or the other thing happened consecutively without any hassles. It's worth imagining the things that run with accuracy.

Unemployment is at it's worst at this time. This concept was hideously emerging in 2006-07 but it gained more prominence during the early 2008. It is contagious and started spreading across the globe without thinking about the seconds or minutes. The whole world is almost without money. Each enterprise is finding itself difficult to manage even it's bare needs. Employees are regularly being axed to curb the overheads. The money spent on material or tangible items have been lessened. Don't you think it's the cycle of time that repeats itself after every five or ten years?

In late 80's, India got a major boost in form of liberlisation policies introduced in the country by the then FM-Dr. Manmohan Singh. The nation progressed in leaps and bounds. Economy had started looking optimistic, calling for immense amount of foreign investment, major takeovers, healthy employment, boost to professional degree courses, betterment in statndard of living. The dreams seemed likely to be acheived in case the economy moved in this direction.

However, late 90's showed the worst picture of one of the most popular indusrty of the nation-IT. It was during this time, the artificial boom of 90's subsided. There was a major slump in this market with the disappearence of small and medium IT companies. Companies like WIPRO,INFOSYS,TCS survived. Their teamwork and efficiency proved to help the IT aspirants. The innumerable contracts recieved by them from world over provided dreams to the working classes. The late 90's also saw a major boom in outsourcing industry that helped the would-be grads and others to get good money by providing services. This industry prospered only because it's cheap to handle everything from India. Everything is cheap--- technology, human resources, everything.

Now, we are at the verge of late 2000's, which has seen the worst tumult of the major economies after the Depression of the 1930's. It's worst in every sense. In fact, it has made the life of every human being impossible. Money is the most important need of time, not even house or food. To get a job in economic meltdown is formidable task. Experts themselves are getting fired as they don't have a slightest idea to tackle this problem. Banks are getting bankrupt, forget about the world renown companies and enterprises. The luxuries of life have come to a halt. The Christmas was sober and not much firecrackers seen on the New Year day. Everyone in the crowd is just aspiring that the worst should go with the past year and new year should bring at least some relief, if not a total relief. But, to give a frank view, it will take another couple of years to build the foundation and and another ten-twenty years to bring the whole economy to stability. It's not easy and cannot been done in matter of time. Time is critical, very much serious as the world is not only suffering from economic factors but also the internal and external factors that are beyond the reach of any particular healthy and sound state.

Survival of the Fittest

Well, the phrase does hold weight. In this era of economic slowdown, deteriorating demand, supply glut, falling enthu---- it has become very important to tread and move carefully. Everyone wants to live;earn by hook or crook; grow; manage; survive.......... But, how can he fit into an environment where he needs to follow principles which don't allow him to take such steps which might be detrimental for his future. He doesn't want to sacrifice his present for his future for he believes if he survives he can take care of future too. In last few centuries, the word " survival" has gained prominence equal to money. If you have money, you can live, buy, enjoy, eat, drink. If you don't, then who is going to feed the empty stomuchs of yours, family, society or nation. Till how long a person can survive on alms, donations or merely a piece of bread? He has to kill himself for the job or work whether he likes or not to feed the thristy mouths. Getting a job is another headache and that too with desired profile. Oh gosh!!!!!!!!!!

A well qualified degree holder is quite sure he will get what he wants as soon as he grads from the university. He never imagines any hiccups as he is fully confident that his degree from an extra-ordinary, excellent institution will definitely bear sweet fruits. He feels he will make his and every other dependent' s life a bed of roses. He toils and struggles with his studies. The results are positive too. He gets employed in a plush, multi-national company which is ready to drain out good amount of money to get his services,in fact his brains.

The scene might have an anti-climax. The rosy picture might become thorny. Now what???????? He will survive but he will have to lower his expectations. You can't own the sky and Mother Earth too is not your personal property even though you can earn a bounty to hypothetically buy a plot to survive. Here, comes the catch. You need to survive so you will have to settle for a less significant job. You feel you can satisfy yourself and your family. As days pass, you feel there needs to be done to make your survival more historic and legendary. Here, you decide, since you have the brains , you just need money, time and energy. There is another catch now...... time. How to do time-management? People do feel that 24 hrs are not enough to complete a job. Why can't we double the clock just as we can demand double the pay or facilities. Well, that is possible too. Forget your family, enjoyment, food, sleep----- material or non-material things of life only to attain new heights with new time and energy.

Money is not a problem as long as you don't own it. The real problem starts when you try to own it. Once you have money, you feel I can live a healthy, sound and enthusiatic life. Trillions of dollars fill your pocket and you fill the pockets of others-- family, society, company, nation, world. Once the money starts flowing in the river as a lifeline, comes another jolt. Now, how can you store money for future. Do you think banks, hundis, safes are enough???? Well, this enthusiam of storing money has given rise to another form of artificial survival. You are surviving to take care of money so it doesn't become stagnant or dead. Death of money means harakiri.

ECONOMIC RECESSION

RECESSION OR ECONOMIC DEPRESSION......... BUT, SURELY, IT HAS BROUGHT THE WORLD THINK MORE MATERIALLY AND CONSERVATIVELY. PROGRESS IS AT IT'S BARE MINIMUM. BUT, A NEW BREED OF RESOURCES ARE EMERGING TOO. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO CURB ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN TO AN EXTENT.

IT INDUSTRY IS ONE MAJOR STINGBEARER. WITH MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES SEEING THE RED, THERE IS INCREASING HOPE FROM THE NEW ENTRANTS. THEY ARE MOVING SLOWLY AND STEADILY AND IT'S BELIEVED THEY MAY MAKE HEADS TURN BY THE END OF THE YEAR OR COUPLE. USA STILL REMAINS THE HOT FAVORITE IN SPITE OF BEING THE MAJOR SUFFERER. PINK SLIPS ARE REGULAR AND HAVE BECOME PART AND PARCEL OF ALMOST ALL THE ORGANISATIONS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE FEW IT FIELDS WHICH HAVE NOT SEEN THE RED ESPECIALLY ORACLE OR MSQL. THE DATABASE FORMS THE HEART OF ANY NETWORKING SITE.

I FEEL EDUCATION HAS REMAINED UNTOUCHED BY ER(eCONOMIC rECESSION). LITERACY IS FOREMOST AND A CRITICAL, CRUCIAL AND SIGNIFICANT PART OF ANY NATION. BEING EDUCATED IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT FOR SURVIVING THE UPS AND DOWNS IN THIS WORLD.RUDIMENTS ARE ALWAYS IMPORTANT STEPPING STONES OF CAREER AND FUTURE BUT ATTAINING A PROFESSIONAL DEGREE IS MORE VITAL FOR IT DECIDES THE VERY FIRST POSITION IN ANY ENTERPRISE. ONE MIGHT NOT OPT FOR AN EXPENSIVE INSTITUTION OF QUALITY EDUCATION BUT ANY INSTITUTION MIGHT GIVE THE SAME ADVANTAGE. WHY SO??????? BECAUSE EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT AND A DEGREE CAN HELP ONE SURVIVE THE COLD WATER OF RECESSION.
